As an older lesbian taking space while sharing space is powerful. Lesbian erasure can’t exist if I show up.

I think it is important for Black lesbians to document our lives. This photo was taken in a restroom of a music venue that featured my favorite local band, SYS. The band features three black queer women all of them are under 40. It was loud and late and I showed up for them, myself and all Black lesbians.
