Being butch is an all-encompassing identity. It is more than how you present yourself to others, it is how you treat others and yourself. Being butch requires understanding the history of queerness and giving credit to those who came before you. At the same time, it is just as important to look to the future and place yourself in the community of queerness in ways that will allow for the next generations to thrive.
