Lesbian, queer artist femmes

[Artist Statement] Tell us more about your photo by sharing a brief artist statement OR answering this prompt: "This is what being ______ means to me..." (Max. 100 words)

This photograph shares subtle intimacies exchanged within the femme embodied experience. Taken on a warm Autumn afternoon in Naples, after sleeping in myself and my partner took to photo making to construct some natural and posed self portraits, as we enjoyed the kitsch novelty of the Italian bedroom we were calling home for the next fourteen days. This to me is a nod to queer subtleties as well as the queering of everyday rituals, gazing as action. Tenderness as radical.

[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."

Taken in Naples early Autumn in a kitsch apartment. My girlfriend poises herself above the bed wearing white as I slouch below on the bed in pink gazing up at her.
